INSHORE, NEAR SHORE, TARPON & FLY FISHING TRIPS- FLORIDA #14

INSHORE, NEAR SHORE, TARPON & FLY FISHING TRIPS- FLORIDA #14

Fish Nation owner, Ed Manasse along with his parents Butch and Joan, recently fished with this talented Captain for redfish and landed over 20 on a half day charter (Pictures below).  We were all thoroughly impressed with the Captains vast knowledge of the area and his charismatic personality made the trip outstanding!  We also were very impressed with his custom-built boat and its easy and comfortable fishability!

With a lifetime of fishing experience and a passion for guiding others, this Captain has been a trusted fishing guide on Anna Maria Island since 1999. Born and raised in central Illinois, surrounded by the fishing lifestyle, he learned the ropes in his family’s bait and tackle shop. After moving to Florida at 19, he transitioned seamlessly into saltwater fishing, mastering the diverse marine species of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

In 2015, he launched his charter company, earning a stellar reputation for providing personalized trips that cater to both seasoned anglers and beginners. Fully licensed and insured, he prioritizes safety and professionalism on every trip, ensuring his boat is equipped with top-notch gear and safety equipment. His deep knowledge of local waters, paired with his friendly and informative approach, guarantees an unforgettable fishing adventure.

When he’s not on the water guiding clients, he spends time fishing across the U.S. and raising his three daughters, who share his love for nature and the outdoors.

With over 20 years of fishing the pristine waters of Anna Maria Island, Tampa Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico, this Captains mission is to deliver unforgettable fishing experiences tailored to anglers of all skill levels. Whether you’re chasing trophy fish or enjoying a relaxing day on the water, he will make your adventure safe, memorable, and full of excitement.

Built with over 35 years of engineering expertise, this vessel offers unmatched stability, carrying its wide 9-foot beam at the waterline for exceptional lateral balance. Whether navigating shallow inshore waters or venturing offshore, the T-Craft delivers unparalleled comfort and performance, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride for anglers and families alike.

Fishing
The waters of Tampa Bay, Anna Maria Sound, The Manatee river, Tierra Ceia Bay, and the gulf beaches offer a wide variety of species that we target, ranging from Snook to Snapper, and everything in between. There is a variety of migratory species that fluctuate throughout the local waters seasonally. What they target varies depending on the season.  Clients can keep their legal catches and they will be cleaned and packaged at the end of the trip.  Ask the Captain about several dining establishments that would be happy to cook you catch!

Nearshore fishing with the Captain takes you just a few miles off the coast, where the waters of the Gulf of Mexico teem with a variety of prized species. These trips are perfect for anglers who want the excitement of offshore fishing without venturing too far from shore. The nearshore waters around Anna Maria Island are rich in marine life, providing ample opportunities to catch a diverse range of fish, including Kingfish, Cobia, Grouper, Snapper, and more.

About Your Tarpon Fishing Adventure

These fish are by far, are his favorite species to target. Typically, the spring migration starts the first week of May and fizzles out towards the end of June. He frequently schedules trips according to the moon phase. The very early morning and late in the evening can be extremely productive. So, if you’re planning on targeting these acrobatic high-flyers, please be flexible. When targeting Tarpon, that is all you will target. Tarpon will range from 40-200 pounds and you should be prepared for the fight of lifetime!  Don’t forget your cameras and video equipment.
