Heli-Fishing Golden Dorado Bolivia #132

ABout this Adventure

This Lodge is newly constructed from sustainably sourced local timber. There will be 6 guests each week that can take advantage of the Heli Package, each enjoying a private, single-occupancy room. Rooms are thoughtfully appointed with a queen-size bed, private bathroom, desk, armchair, hot water, and electricity, blending comfort with rustic elegance.

The lodge features an intimate dining and lounge area, perfect for relaxing and sharing stories after a day on the river. Daily laundry service keeps packing light, while the onsite fly shop ensures your tackle and flies are always stocked.
For Heli Package anglers, nearby heliports allow rapid access to the day’s fishing beats. After demanding days wading Bolivia’s rivers, guests can unwind in the massage room, offering the ultimate in post-fishing relaxation. This is an offering unlike all others in Bolivia for Golden Dorado.

The Fishing
When you book and schedule your stay at this lodge to be part of the copter program, you won’t regret it. Each morning you will travel to the helipad to board the Robinson R44 Raven two helicopters and travel the specific beat of water that you will be fishing that day. Most flights are 30 minutes or less and you will have a designated drop off and pick up time. When the conditions are right you will be sight casting to Dorado in the 10 pound plus range as well as large Pacu. While chasing these fish you will want to be sure to have your favorite 8 weight 9 weight and 10 weight rods with you. Tropical or warm water lines are necessary with the climate and water temperatures as well as an assortment of large bulky profile bait fish patterns in a variety of colors.

How to Get There
• International Flight: Guests fly into Santa Cruz, Bolivia (VVI).
• Arrival in Santa Cruz: A lodge representative meets you at the airport and transfers you to a 5-star hotel for the first night. Guests can relax, enjoy the hotel’s amenities, and review trip details with the team.
• Charter to Lodge: The following morning, a 1.5-hour charter flight takes guests to the Oromono Community jungle airstrip. Upon arrival, guides escort anglers upriver to the lodge, provide an orientation, and anglers can fish the home pool that afternoon.
