FLY FISH, EXPLORE AND VACATION IN PUERTO RICO #88

FLY FISH, EXPLORE AND VACATION IN PUERTO RICO #88

This well-known lodge offers anglers of all skill levels the opportunity to not only fish magnificent water but also explore the culture and lifestyle of Puerto Rico’s lush and rural countryside.  They have something for all anglers and are eager to show what this fantastic island has to offer. They provide logistics planning and custom fishing vacations based in Cabo Rojo, PR. Not to mention their knowledgeable, friendly, and fun guides who are on hand to help you get the most out of your trip.

Although their main focus is fly fishing for tarpon, and permit, they are able to build custom vacation packages pairing the great fishing in Puerto Rico with other activities, including but not limited to golf, surfing, cycling, food tours, and much more.

Your guides will be experienced professionals in all of these outdoor activities and will show you the island as a local, sharing authentic experiences and taking care of everything along the way.

Just get down here and leave the rest to us!

Located on Puerto Rico’s West coast, Boquerón & La Parguera are small fishing towns directly on the water surrounded by authentic Puerto Rican restaurants and happening downtown bars. Cheap drinks, good food, and plenty of fantastic vibes. Although rustic and very “small Caribbean island” feeling, Boquerón & La Parguera are only 30 minutes away from Mayaguez, providing guests access to hospital care, pharmacies, and many big box stores.  Guests can rest easy knowing that any forgotten prescription or gear can be replaced quickly and easily. Just ask your guide!

Their current locations are in Salinas and Boqueron, both a short 5-minute walk from the happening local downtown strip. Feel free to explore the sights and bars on your own; self-exploration, pop-up style flexibility, and adventure are some of the aspects that set this lodge apart from other fishing lodges.

Situated approximately 1,000 miles southeast of the southern tip of Florida, Puerto Rico offers year-round access to mind bending tarpon action and a number of productive flats for pursuing tailing permit on foot. This Lodge is a small operation hosting no more than six anglers each week, perfect for groups of buddies and hosted fly shop trips. Guests lodge right on the beach in Boquerón Marina, located in a notable old-school fishing village that provides the entire island with a plethora of fresh seafood options.

Travel to Puerto Rico for American guests couldn’t be easier as passports are not required for entry, so skip the customs lines and come on down. We recommend Puerto Rico to anyone who enjoys immediate access to productive saltwater angling, with comfortable, no-frill accommodations and an immersive cultural experience abroad.

What is a “Pop-Up” Style Lodge?

Their Lodge was founded on the premise of flexibility, and adventure. In order to continue the pursuit of big fish, better times, and more functional accommodations, their Lodge is constantly searching for bigger and better places to accommodate our clients.
All clients will always receive top notch fishing with professional guides regardless of our location/s any given season. All location changes will be communicated to bookings at least 4 months prior to arrival

Getting To The Spot!

Each day begins with you and your guide trailering the skiffs to the town ramp, taking about 20-40 minutes on quiet rural roads.
They fish from a variety of different towns along the southern shores of Puerto Rico, where the skiffs will be launched from a boat ramp. The average travel time in the skiff to start fishing is 5-15 minutes, depending on the target species.

Boats and Equipment

The Lodge utilizes five 17-foot Maverick skiffs with four-stroke 90 HP engines. All boats are equally equipped with poling platforms, carbon push poles, Yeti coolers, and all gear you may need; unlike some tropical destinations, there will be no disparity between boats, gear, and guides on your trip. Each guide is a certified captain by the US Coastguard and will be operating their skiffs professionally as a result. The guides have spare terminal tackle, outfits, and flies. If you will be traveling with no rods, please notify the lodge beforehand to ensure loaner gear is available.

On-land transportation is handled by a fleet of Toyota Tacomas with Mitsubishi Montero’s used as support/backup vehicles.
