Set on a remote three-branch river system, this full-service Alaska fishing experience offers a rare combination of world-class angling and true wilderness solitude. With no outside fishing pressure in the region, the system sees an incredible return of fish each season. There’s no need to travel between rivers or compete for water—just wide-open access, quiet surroundings, and endless opportunity.
Accessible only by private charter, this untouched fishery begins in the rugged Ahklun Mountains and winds through protected wilderness before emptying into the Bering Sea. The system features hundreds of miles of fishable water, including braided channels, side creeks, and multiple river forks, giving anglers a wide range of water to explore each day.
Jet boats allow efficient access to every stretch of the river, from upper reaches to tidewater. In the lower sections, fresh, sea-run salmon—bright and aggressive—provide exciting, hard-fighting action. Across the system, anglers can also target strong resident rainbow trout, Arctic grayling, and sea-run char, all thriving in cold, clear water.
This is a place defined by simplicity and abundance—untouched water, consistent fishing, and an environment where the focus stays exactly where it should be: on the experience.
The Fishing
The season kicks off in late June with the arrival of powerful King salmon, alongside excellent fishing for rainbow trout and Arctic grayling. By early July, the river fills with waves of chum and sockeye salmon, pushing upstream in impressive numbers. These fish are fresh from the Bering Sea—bright, aggressive, and often still carrying sea lice—offering anglers some of the most exciting fishing of the year.
By mid-July, sea-run Dolly Varden enter the system, bringing the chance to target some of the largest fish of the season, with individuals reaching up to 30 inches. In even-numbered years, pink salmon arrive in massive numbers as well, creating peak “Grand Slam” conditions—one of the rare opportunities where anglers can land all five species of Pacific salmon on the fly in a single day.
As the season progresses, the fishery becomes especially well known for its exceptional silver salmon run. The first silvers typically show in mid-July, with strong numbers continuing well into September. As salmon move upriver, rainbow trout and Dolly Varden follow closely behind, feeding heavily on drifting eggs and providing consistent, action-packed fishing.
August stands out as a favorite time for many returning anglers, offering a perfect mix of species and variety. Mornings often deliver fast-paced silver salmon action, while afternoons are spent targeting hungry trout and char in clear, productive water—making for a well-rounded and unforgettable day on the river.
It doesn’t matter if you are a family fisherman, or a conventional angler, this lodge has guides and fish that will allow you enjoy fishing the way you like to. As the season transitions from spring through summer and into fall the salmon transition as well. As September approaches you might find yourself looking to the sky to observe the ducks as they move around throughout the day.
