With nearly four decades rooted in Florida’s Treasure Coast, this captains’ life has been shaped by the outdoors—on the water and in the woods. Growing up in a commercial fishing family in Stuart, he spent his summers working nets and learning firsthand the discipline, respect, and work ethic the sea demands.
His introduction to fly fishing came in 1994 through the Boy Scouts. What began as a simple merit badge quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit. By 2012, that passion evolved into a full-time guiding career. Today, he specializes in fly and light tackle fishing for Snook, Tarpon, Trout, Jacks, and False Albacore across the inshore and nearshore waters of Stuart and the surrounding Treasure Coast.
When he’s not poling the flats or running the beach, you’ll likely find me in the woods chasing alligator, whitetail, or elk—or sharpening his skills in long-range shooting. Above all, he’s a proud father. His daughter shares his love for the outdoors and hopes to become a guide one day, a daily reminder of why he’s so committed to this way of life.

The Fishing
When you go fishing with this Captain, the day will be designed specifically the way you want it. Captain James is a multi-boat captain that can put you into a situation while pushing a technical polling into the perfect scenario for you to present a family to your target species that day. He has the boat and the skills to approach spooky fish in a stealthy way that very often leads to success.
If you are not a Fly angler, don’t worry because Captain James has been fishing these waters since he was a very young boy. This gives him a background in all types of angling including artificial and bait fishing. If you are coming on a trip with your family, he and his fleet of charter captains can make sure that you’re in a boat that will be comfortable for your group fishing in a style that is most suitable for you.
Captain James offers a variety of different trips a half day, Full day, three quarter day and has some unique multi day packages. The multi day packages allow you added value while being able to customize your fishing day to your party needs and desires based on the captain’s recommendations.
If you know anything about Stuart Florida and Snook, you have probably about the night fishing. Captain James has spent many hours in the dark patrolling these waters for great nighttime fishing opportunities end has got a program that is very focused and dialed in.
If you want to add in a night of fishing into a three or 5-day package, there’s no better person to do it with.

This is a late morning charter fished from Jensen beach FL all the way to North Vero beach FL Mostly for redfish, Snook and Sea trout tarpon, and Jack’s typically are on the menu but not talked about!
