Bolivia Culture Experience & Fly Fishing for Golden Dorado #135

ABout this Adventure

Perched on a bluff overlooking the Secure River, This Camp is a remote yet luxurious safari-style tented lodge. Just 100 yards from the small native village of Agua Negra, it offers a uniquely cultural dimension to this fly fishing experience, making it a very special and unique experience.
Guests stay in comfortable double-occupancy safari tents with private baths and enjoy the main lodge for meals and drinks. Fishing takes place on both the Secure and the smaller Agua Negra River. The latter features forgiving terrain, trophy dorado, and an impressive diversity of species, including large pacu, pira pita, and the elusive striped catfish, surubi.

The Fishing
This is a very small camp with only four anglers per week, that will have to both the Secure river as well as the Agua Negra River which is a small tributary to the Secure. Both of these rivers will be accessed in traditional dugout canoes powered both by push poll as well as small outboard engines. The Aguanegra will require roughly 15-minute hike through the jungle to meet the boats each day. Similar to some of this group’s other programs, arrangements can be made for a remote overnight camp spot requiring a longer hike into more remote waters.

Like most golden Dorado fishing in Bolivia, we recommend 8 weight 9 weight and 10 weight rods with a variety of lines both sinking and primarily floating. You will want to be sure to notable wire tip it as well as fluorocarbon and enough lies to get you through a carnivorous week of fishing.

The accommodations at this camp are rugged yet refined. Guests will enjoy singular occupancy rooms with comfortable made of local hard and featuring Full Lin and a private bathroom and shower. The camp is operated a generator that gives you the feeling of home full electric power and Internet service as well.
