The Lodge stands as a sophisticated and versatile destination, thoughtfully designed for discerning anglers who seek both refinement and adventure. Hosting just eight guests per week, it offers an intimate atmosphere and a truly personalized experience.
Guests are accommodated in elegantly appointed double cabins, each featuring a private en-suite bath, generous wardrobe space, and overhead fans to ensure comfort in the tropical climate. Every detail has been considered to create a stay that is as relaxing as it is memorable.
The surrounding fishery is defined by dramatic freestone rivers that course over rock-strewn channels and sculpted structure, delivering an engaging and athletic wading experience ideally suited for confident anglers. For those who prefer a more relaxed approach or greater variety, several sections of the river are perfectly suited for guided boat fishing, providing both ease and strategic access to productive water.
The defining distinction lies in its extraordinary diversity of water. Technical pocket water, boulder gardens, sweeping runs, and long, translucent pools create a visually stunning and tactically rich program, with outstanding sight-fishing opportunities throughout. Anglers rotate through two secluded tributaries — the Upper Pluma and Itirizama — as well as multiple prime sections of the main Pluma River and select beats along the expansive Secure River. This thoughtfully curated rotation ensures each day presents new water, new challenges, and fresh opportunity.
The Fishing
Pluma River
The Pluma is a clear, moderately sized freestone system known for its open banks and relatively forgiving wading. Smooth gravel and rock structure create excellent sight-fishing conditions. To preserve its untouched character, motors are largely restricted, and anglers explore by foot or from quietly poled skiffs and dugout canoes.
Itirizama River
More rugged and physically demanding, the Itirizama cuts through canyon terrain with steeper gradients, fast runs, and boulder-strewn pocket water. It is widely regarded as the program’s most dramatic fishery — less about numbers and more about size. For anglers willing to work, it offers legitimate trophy potential in a striking mountain-jungle setting.
These rivers and this fishing program allow an angler a tremendous opportunity at close quarter, short cast, side fishing to some of the greatest freshwater predators known to chase a fly. Be sure to pack your 9 weight and 10 weight rods and an assortment of large high profile bait fish patterns in a variety of colors. The lines that we recommend are primarily floating. All lines must be a tropical or warm water variation in order to function well in the jungle climate and warm water.
The Lodging
Perched above the banks of the Pluma River, The Lodge offers an intimate retreat designed for comfort in the heart of the jungle. The property features four well-appointed hardwood cabins, each configured for double occupancy and complete with private en-suite baths, hot water, and walk-in showers.
The main lodge serves as the social centerpiece, where guests gather for cocktails and thoughtfully prepared meals while overlooking the river below. A spacious veranda links the cabins to the lodge, creating a seamless flow between private quarters and shared spaces.
Modern comforts complement the remote setting, including generator power with battery backup and wireless internet service.
The Food
Dining at the lodge is a highlight of the experience. Evenings feature thoughtfully prepared international fare showcasing fresh meats, local produce, and a curated selection of Argentine wines.
Breakfast is made to order each morning, and lunches are prepared for the river and enjoyed streamside during the day’s fishing. Beer, wine, and spirits are all included.
The kitchen team is attentive and happy to accommodate dietary needs, ensuring every meal complements the adventure without missing a beat.
